Being conscious of our environment and trying to do our part to leave a smaller footprint, we continue to explore alternative materials and construction options for Vans snowboard boots. Vans operates under lean manufacturing standards that reduce waste, improve efficiency, and adhere to global restricted substance initiatives that greatly reduce toxic emissions into the environment. For this season every style is made with water-based cements in lieu of petroleum-based glues; the Cirro, Revere, Wiig, and Ferra are all constructed using a percentage of recycled materials; and we continue to expand the use of waste-reducing, injection-molded outsoles. You can be sure we will continue our efforts towards establishing more sustainable processes to help ensure a healthy future for the world we ride in.
We are proud to continue our relationship with POW, to work on more sustainable product construction methods, and help promote awareness of the threat that global climate change represents to the future of winter sports. Proceeds from the sale of the men's Cirro boots will go to the POW organization to help fund environmental and educational programs that share our common goal of protecting our winters for current and future generations to enjoy.
