Minnesota don’t miss the Cal Surf 25 Year Anniversary Party with a screening of Videgrass’ “The Last Ones” this Saturday, August 24th. It's going down at Cause Spirits and Soundbar, 3001 Lyndale Ave. S. Minneapolis, MN 55408. I have a feeling Zac Marben and his band of local misfits will be raging at this one.

Words and photos by Aaron Blatt. Last night, a packed house ushered in the newest chapter of Videograss in the Hollywood theater of Portland, OR. After a short intro by a stacked assembly of the VG crew, the curtains opened on “The Last Ones” and the crowd was witness to some of the heaviest parts seen to date. All the riders put together some insane shots, with a large helping of “never-been-dones” scattered throughout the film. Bryan Fox stood out ...

Nothing beats a fun session in the minipipe with friends. Throw in some legends and put up a trip to Cabo for whoever goes the biggest in the micro-transition and you have Summer Games event, "The High Jump", and more importantly a damn good time. SNOWBOARDER Magazine has brought the Summer Games to Mt. Hood. Just really an excuse to get the staff of the mag together with a group of riders they all like and respect, the Summer Games ...

The three-act structure is a staple of modern film narrative. Last season’s Battle Of The Brands critics' choice winners, Volcom, return to this social media melee with an offering that is a textbook example of the tried-and-true three-act edit. The setup, aptly titled Part 1: Black & White, is taken on by alpine auteur Pat Barraza who delivers a stunning one minute and 40 second monochromatic montage of Zac Marben, Johnny Lazz, Gray Thompson, Mike Rav and Skylar Thornton. Part ...

Darrell Mathes brings us another look inside the filming of the new Videograss movie, "The Last Ones" with a bunch of shots of Zac Marben and Danimals shooting in Minnesota. Darrell's shots are usually more of the behind the scenes type stuff, always artistic and interesting, but he managed to sneak in an action shot or two in there as well. Check out his blog over at howlsupply.com for the pics.

Zac Marben getting upside down. Photo: Darrell Mathes. Looks like the Videograss dudes have traded the mean streets of Minnesota for the high alpine of the Whistler backcountry. Darrell Mathes and Zac Marben have fired up the sleds and moved from handrails to big hits, building booters and shredding Whistler's endless backcountry terrain, proving their worth as well rounded riders. Check out more some photos that Darrell shot from one of the first missions on howlsupply.com.

Mt. Baker standing proud. Words and photos: Larry Nuñez There is lots of marketing jargon thrown around in snowboarding. “The greatest" this and “best ever” that. But one event actually lives up to its name year after year: The Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom. One look at the list of past winners confirms the cultural significance of this contest and validates its “Legendary” status. Names like Tom Sims, Shaun Palmer, Craig Kelley, Terje Haakonsen and the 1998 Next Generation champion ...
