Iouri "IPod" Podladtchikov Wins Burton European Open

Vans Team Rider and Swiss Superstar Iouri "I-Pod" Podladtchikov continued his dominance over the weekend with another first place finish at a TTR World Snowboard Tour Halfpipe event. The Burton European Open was held Saturday, March 3rd in Laax, Switzerland, and with Iouri being the hometown hero, it's no surprise he once again threw down the winning run. Podladtchikov's second-of-three runs, judged with the new format introduced at the World Snowboard Championships in Olso, Norway last month, was mellow considering IPod's latest exploits at the US X Games and The Winter Dew Tour. But a Frontside 900 Tail Grab, Backside 900 Mute, Frontside Double Cork 1080, Frontside air to Cab Double Cork 1080 earned him the winning score and made for a rare victory lap on his third and final run. IPod is on a roll right now leading into the final major US contest of the season - the Burton US Open in Stratton, VT on March 10th, 2012.
